Alena Galan was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease (MPS – Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome) at the age of 3. She has overcome her diagnosis to sing at Radio City and Carnegie Hall, and appear on the TLC reality show, “sMothered.” Enjoy a few minutes with this amazing dynamo!

 

The Mane Event - Jesse Buchanan

Jesse Buchanan is a senior visual FX artist at SONY Video in Los Angeles. He has been part of development teams for some of the most popular games in history ("Call of Duty" and "God of War").

He shares his story of becoming an FX artist and reveals how video games are created.

The Mane Event - Dave Stevens

The Mane Event features Dave Stevens, an athlete and 7-time Emmy winner, who is the only athlete to play football and minor league baseball, despite having no legs!

Dave spent 20 years at ESPN covering 11 Super Bowls, 3 World Series and 3 NCAA Final Four tournaments.

The Main Event - Brett Blomquist (audio)

Brett Blomquist is a special 36-year-old athlete who plays center on a sled hockey team that has won 20 championships. He recently wrote a book of poetry. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to his sled hockey team.

The 'Mane' Event - Dave Zaran

Dave Zaran is a pharmacist from Michigan. Later this year, he will complete his 15th Ironman Triathlon. He dedicates every event to pediatric patients and holds them near to his heart every race.

The 'Mane' Event - Pete Hawkins (audio)

At age 17, star high school football player Pete Hawkins was paralyzed in a drunk driving accident. Faced with the consequence of never being able to have use of his legs again, he was presented two choices. Give up, or get busy living. His story is uplifting and inspirational.

When he was born with Diastrophic Dysplasia in 1981, doctors told Clinton Brown III's parents he wouldn't amount to much. Boy, did they get that wrong. He's become a successful businessman, married, with a son, and one of the leaders of Little People of America.

The 'Mane' Event - Kyle Merber (audio)

Kyle Merber is an American middle distance runner. During a training run, he severely injured his foot and feared he'd never compete again. But he persevered and came back to be part of a relay team that set a world record in 2015.

The 'Mane' Event - Patrick Harten (audio)
